The Nice Stuff

Evidence for the family group chat. We've tried explaining it. This seemed easier…

We're generally not ones for tooting our own horns as we're much more comfortable buried in a Figma file than talking about ourselves but occasionally, something very nice happens and we want people to know how happy this makes us.

This page is where we keep the wins, not just for bragging purposes but because we genuinely believe recognition matters. Especially for small, specialist studios doing work they care deeply about.

So here it is. The Nice Stuff! We'll try to be humble about it.

(But no promises.)

Agnes Kasilovska won the Development Impact Award at the MCV/Develop Women in Games Awards 2026, then went on stage and made Jasmine cry. She shared the story of her journey to becoming Creative Director and there was barely a dry eye in the house.

Agnes was the only service provider on the shortlist, up against some truly amazing women in game development. Our congratulations also must go to:

  • Sylvia Koloszewska, Screen Burn Interactive

  • Lesleyann White, Spilt Milk Studios

  • Freya Campbell, Supermassive Games

Just being nominated alongside them was an honour. To see Agnes's work recognised like this means more than we can say. She shapes every project we touch and this award shows that the craft behind co-development matters too.

We're so proud of you, Agnes. Tissues for everyone!

Development Impact Award 2026

We went to Develop:Brighton 2026 with our very first booth and just when we thought it couldn't get any more fun, we won Supporting Star at the Develop:Star Awards!

Once again we were up against some incredible names in the industry and we're so delighted to have won this for all our fellow indie studios. Thank you to everyone who voted for us online!

Award aside, we absolutely adored having our own booth and meeting so many of you on the conference floor, from recent graduates to industry veterans. It was a joy to be right in the middle of the community and we came away with so many incredible new connections.

Supporting Star 2026

Despite Matt Broughton trying to establish a swearing ban during speeches, he couldn't help letting one slip himself when he announced Dead Nice Studio as Service Partner of the Year 2026.

Up against a long list of absolute giants, we know we weren't the expected winner. But as the underdogs, this kind of recognition means the world and we'll be holding onto this moment for a very long time.

But beyond the statue and the very public swearing: this award is for our clients. It's proof that we mean what we say about collaboration. We show up, we care and we do our best work in service of yours.

Dead Nice exists to be a genuine partner, not just a pair of hands. It's pretty wonderful to feel like that's coming through.

Thanks to everyone for all the support!
