Dead Nice and Develop: Star Awards. Don’t our names look nice together?

Dead Nice has been nominated for a Develop:Brighton Star Award in the Supporting Star category, recognising companies that go above and beyond in supporting the game development community.

For a small, specialist studio doing what we love every day, this means a lot. Like, a genuinely embarrassing amount.

What the nomination means to us

Dead Nice was built on a simple belief: that game UI + UX deserves the same care, craft and dedication as any other discipline in game development. We're a team of raccoon-brained problem solvers who care deeply about player experience, accessibility in games and making sure every interface we touch feels intuitive, immersive and human.

Being recognised alongside the incredible companies and studios that support this industry? That's not something we take lightly.

The games industry has had a hard few years. Studios have downsized, projects have been cancelled and talented people have had to rebuild from scratch. Through all of it, the community has kept showing up for each other and we've tried to do the same. Whether that's through our outsourced UI + UX design and engineering work, our research-driven approach to game interface design or just being a collaborative partner that studios can actually trust, we try to show up in ways that matter.

This nomination feels like a nod to that effort. And honestly? It made us a bit emotional (and made our eyes go a little bit wobbly).

What we do (since you're here)

Dead Nice is a specialist game UI + UX studio working with developers across PC, console, mobile and emerging platforms. Our services span UI design, UX design, implementation and engineering support, with a process built around clarity, documentation and collaboration.

We work with studios at every scale; indie teams shipping their first game, mid-size developers growing faster than their pipeline can keep up with and big AAA developers who need specialist support without the overhead of a full hire.

But mostly, we work with studios who want a partner, not just a vendor. From early concepting through to in-engine delivery, we integrate with your team, speak your language and care about your game as much as you do.

If you're looking for a UI + UX outsourcing partner for your next project, please get in touch with the team. We’d love to hear from you!

The kind of customer feedback we love the most

A thank you (a big one)

To everyone who's worked with us, championed us or just been kind about what we're building: this one's for you. Dead Nice exists because of the trust people have placed in us and we don't forget that.

If you’d like to vote for us to win (we’ll be your best friends), you can do so HERE.

See you in Brighton. First round's on us. 🖤
