Interface as Identity: Designing UI That Complements the Brand
Here's the short version: branding and UI are almost always treated as separate jobs done by different people at different stages. Branding sets the promise from the outside. Game UI + UX is where players actually spend their time, where that outward promise either holds up or quietly falls apart.
This talk digs into how interface design shapes game identity long before the logo is finalised or the trailer is cut and how to design UI and branding so they're speaking the same language rather than talking over each other.
Expect real examples of game UI and brand alignment done well, a look at the awkward cases where outside promise and inside experience don't match and a practical framework you can use early in development even on small teams (especially on small teams!).
You'll leave with a checklist and a sharper sense of what visual consistency actually means in practice, beyond "make it match the key art."
